Speaking and facilitating

Hi, I'm Dr Ashlea.

Dr Ashlea, a woman with strawberry blonde hair wearing a black outfit standing on grass near a body of water with hills in the background.

I am an experienced speaker, facilitator and medical educator who has presented at conferences, led workshops and hosted podcasts on a variety of topics for leading medical organisations.

I have an engaging, interactive and grounded approach and am comfortable holding space for difficult conversations on tough topics.

I speak and facilitate on sex, bodies, trauma, burnout and self-care. I have a particular focus on teaching doctors how to approach sex, relationships and trauma in their clinical practice.

I do this through a combination of experiential exercises, guided self-reflection, scientific evidence pitched to the edge of what's safe and useful within your own scope of practice, shared generously.

I have a long history of advocating for and teaching in the realm of doctor’s health and wellbeing, trauma-informed care and more recently, bringing sex positivity into medicine.

These are the credentials and milestones behind that work:

In addition to my Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, I have also obtained a Fellowship with the Australian Society of Psychological Medicine, am a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician and have completed a Master of Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health, specialising in Psychosexual Therapy).

In 2018, as the first RACGP NSW & ACT New Fellows Committee Chair, I championed, curated and facilitated the inaugural RACGP NSW & ACT Wellbeing Weekend, which subsequently became an annual RACGP event.

I also sat on the RACGP NSW & ACT Faculty Council as Co-Vice-Chair and the RACGP Pre-Fellowship Expert Committee.

I was subsequently awarded the RACGP NSW & ACT Eric Fisher Award for excellence in promoting doctor’s health and wellbeing.

I am currently a co-host of The GP Show and have presented for both the RACGP and ASPM on bio-psycho-social approaches to low libido in clinical practice.
